Andy Makes Speech and Leads BMAX at the 2013 New England Patriots Cheerleader "Boot Camp"

Andy was recently invited to make a motivational speech, show-off and leads BMAX to the 36 finalists at the 2013 New England Patriots Cheerleader "Boot Camp" - which eventually decided the final coveted spots for the 2013 squad. You Want Biceps and Triceps? You Got It!



Hello Activators! It's almost that time of year again - tank tops, short sleeves, bathing suits, and you're thinking "AHHHH!" This week, BMAX creator Andy Berler challenges you to four exercises that will get your arms into shape in time for the warm weather. Start now, and you'll be sure to see results by the time it hits 80 degrees.

Exercises include:
 Plank with the Iso-Curl
Camel Extensions
Circle Curls with Plie Squats
Plank with Triceps Extension 

A few tips - make sure to keep your hips down and core engaged when you're in these exercises that start in an elevated plank. Also, if you're up for a challenge, keep your feet no more than shoulder width apart when in the elevated plank position - lock in those hips and Prepare to Activate!

Spaghetti Squash and Fresh Plum Tomato Primavera...BMAX APPROVED!


This recipe is a BMAX must-try. It's not enough to just do the workouts, you have to make BMAX a lifestyle, and that means eating right. Here's Andy's recipe for Spaghetti Squash and Fresh Plum Tomato Primavera - let us know what you think!

Ingredients:
-medium size spaghetti squash
-6 plum tomatoes
-fresh garlic cloves
-veggies of choice (we used sweet red pepper)
-black pepper
-cumin

1. Cut a spaghetti squash in half and cook face down on a cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.

2. While cooking prepare the sauce: Fill medium size pot with water and bring it to a boil, then drop 6 plum tomatoes in for about 1 minute until you see the skin start to peel away.

3. Remove tomatoes and run under cold water so you can handle them. Completely peel each one and place in a bowl.

4. Once all are peeled, one at a time hand squeeze the juice out of each one into a small sauce pan, and rough cut the tomato "meat" and toss right into the juice.

5. Mince your garlic and add right in with the tomatoes, add a few pinches of black pepper and a few pinches of cumin. Feel free to add any veggies you would like. Tonight we used sweet red pepper.

6. Simmer on a low heat, and stir periodically until it comes to a low boil.

7. Once the squash is done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a about 5 minutes. Once you can handle it, spoon out the seeds and the middle core section and discard.

8. Then take the halves of squash and from top to bottom fork the squash right onto your serving plate. You will see the squash take on a spaghetti look.

9. Top it with your fresh sauce and serve!

There is no doubting that we live in a “WE WANT IT NOW” society; and when it comes to our fitness and health, it’s no different. We want results and we want to see them quick. Unfortunately, most of the time impatience leads to frustration, forcing us to get derailed from our training routines and sometimes even to stop. Usually it’s just enough time to put the pounds back on and to get terribly out of shape. On the opposite end of the emotional spectrum, we can get so hyped to improve our fitness that we actually end up over training; basically too much, too soon, eventually leading to injury. Either scenario will lead to the same place–failure.

By now you have all heard it, “Get a ripped physique in 90 days”; “Best shape of your life in 60 days”. Unfortunately, the express mentality is not always the best solution. This seems to be the reality with some of the well known giants, such as P90X or Insanity. Those attractive results you see in the infomercials come few and far between and most of the time are not achieved due to the fact that we don’t and we can’t finish the program for the reasons stated above.

I THINK I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO FINALLY BEING ABLE TO MAINTAIN AND SUSTAIN A FITNESS PROGRAM WHILE STAYING SAFE. WOW! RESULTS!!!

It is innovative, it is unique, the workouts are quick, and it is safe–It is BMAX! Andy Berler has created BMAX with YOU in mind. Folks, “The Oscar for the BEST EXERCISE PROGRAM, goes to Andy Berler’s BMAX.” You will not believe how effective, and how efficient Berler’s training secret known as Maximum Activation really is. BMAX Presents new "BMAX Spotlight" Videos, Starting with the Maxiumum Activation Push-up!

BMAX has recently launched the new "BMAX Spotlight" video series on our official YoubTube channel. Creator Andy Berler will take one classic exercise and activate it using his unique and effective BMAX twist. In these videos, he'll go more in depth into his instructions and even concentrate more on modifications. It isn't just about doing the exercises, it's about knowing how to execute them properly - these vids will be perfect for that!

This week, the average push-up is activated in the first BMAX Spotlight - Andy shares some great tips on how to amp up the average "Godfather" of exercises: the push-up. Juicing or Blending - What Works for you?



Juicing
Advantage: Juicing is great because it extracts all of the water and nutrients from vegetables and fruits, leaving behind only the plant fibers. This means your body is better able to absorb the nutrients without having to digest the dense bulk of the plant. Plus, you can fit an incredible quantity of vegetables and fruit into a single glass, leaving you with a delicious drink that packs an incredible nutritional punch!

Disadvantages: Juicers are expensive and a total pain to keep clean. Stocking enough fresh, organic vegetables and fruit to make daily juices can also be somewhat expensive. Although they are very high in nutrients and vitamins, juices cannot keep you full for long, because your body processes the liquid so quickly.

Blending
Advantage: The biggest advantage to blending (smoothies) is that the only equipment you need is relatively inexpensive-a blender. Smoothies also tend to be much more filling, since the plant fibers are present (but still easy to digest, compared to raw vegetables).

Disadvantages: Compared to digesting juice, your body will have to work harder to digest a smoothie and absorb the nutrients. Also, because it's difficult to pack the same volume of vegetables into a blender, your smoothie won't be as nutrient-dense as your "juice". Using a high quality blender, such as a Vitamix or a Blendtec, will lead to a smoother, easier digestible smoothie.

Our conclusion
When it comes to the "Green Machine", whether you prefer juices or smoothies, it's hard to go wrong. Just pick your favorite vegetables and fruits, then blend or juice away. Your body will thank you! One tip we have received from our BMAX friend, the "Juiceman", Todd Mehl at JuicePlus+, is to make sure you're constantly changing up your ingredients, in an effort not to deprive your body of any vitamins and nutrients that are available to you.

Need some new healthy dinner ideas? Fish is a great choice for healthy eating - it's QUICK and EASY! Fish fillets cook in a matter of minutes and the flavor takes well to any seasonings. Lunchtime 911: How to Eat Right at Panera Bread


We've all been there - standing in line at Panera Bread and staring at the salad, sandwich, and soup choices. It all looks so good, but how do you stay healthy surrounded by so many calories and carbs? Well, staying fit and healthy doesn't mean you can't eat at Panera bread. Here's Andy to tell you how!

 His order: Thai Chopped Chicken Salad (Andy's way to stay clean and green)

NO wonton strips
NO Thai dressing
NO Thai cashews
NO peanut sauce
ADD extra chicken for protein
ADD tomatoes
...stay Gluten free and have balsamic dressing instead!

So, now you're clean and green lunch is: romaine lettuce, edamame, tomatoes, extra chicken, and balsamic dressing on the side. Wash it all down with a bottle of water.

And don't forget the million dollar question: Apple, Chips, or Bread. You should know the answer to that!
